LUAU FIZZ

LUAU FIZZ

Ingredients:

  • White rum,
  • Spiced rum,
  • Lime juice,
  • Falernum (a typical homemade liqueur for tiki mixing based on a mix of rum macerated with spices, roots, and citrus peels, and sweetened with sugar),
  • Soda based on Orange and Ginger Rooibos and Ayurvedic Lemon Chai tea, Terza Luna
  • Angostura drops.

Preparation:

To prepare, shake all the ingredients except the tea soda and pour everything into a Collins-style glass, topping it off with the soda made from the two teas. Decorate with a few drops of Angostura, a sprinkle of pimento, a sprig of mint, and a lime slice.

Bartender's notes:

The idea for the drink and the choice of the two tea blends arose from the intention to enhance elements commonly used in our tiki mixing: both oriental and Caribbean spices and citrus fruits. The ginger in the tea complements our falernum, which also contains ginger, pimento, and cloves. This combination adds aromatic complexity to the drink, along with the presence of spiced rum. The lime juice, orange tea, and lemon chai provide freshness and a touch of light acidity. Overall, the drink is very refreshing, easy to drink, and has just the right amount of aromatic complexity, as is traditional in fizz cocktails.
