JAPANESE ARARE TEAPOT "Ren"

Capacity 1.2 liters
Entirely made of cast iron with stainless steel inner filter and trivet

Arareあられ is the name of the style to which this teapot refers: in Japan there is an ancient tradition of cast iron teapot artisans, over time these objects have evolved as increasingly unique design objects but the Arare style has remained the most faithful to the originals.
The name refers to the dots or stripes that decorate the teapots, normally they are dots but in this teapot we have, as mentioned, a revisitation of the style.

Cast iron is an alloy of iron (95%) and other minerals (brass, carbon, silicon), certainly they are the most resistant teapots of all, their mass keeps the temperature of the hot water for a long time.

Can cast iron teapots be used on the stove?

Cast iron is a very resistant material, so it can be placed on the stove, but we still recommend avoiding it to preserve the internal enamel that could crack. Some still put them on the stove using a flame spreader but in the long run the enamel may not hold.

Maintenance of cast iron teapots

After each use, rinse with water and dry with a cloth from the inside to avoid leaving moisture residues that could cause rust over time.
