Harvested in May 2025. Guangdong, Feng Huang mountains, Chaozou county. Cultivated between 500 and 1000 meters.

Cultivar Mi Lan Xiang (literally: honey and orchid aroma).

Semi-wild cultivation, from trees aged between 80 and 100 years.

The name of this tea explains its characteristics well: Feng Huang is the mountain from which it comes in Guangdong, while Dan Cong is the suffix used for all teas that are harvested from unique bushes, without mixing with each other. This is because each bush has its own distinct aroma and uniqueness must be preserved.

We must always keep in mind that these are trees over a century old, producing a limited quantity of leaves. We immediately perceive it in its infusion, which has a very different taste from Mei Zhan, an incredibly floral taste reminiscent of lychee, mixed with a hint of cereals that can be noticed from the second infusion, making the lychee more prominent towards the end.

The terroir from which it comes has always moist soil, very rich in vegetation, with often cloudy and foggy weather. All this contributes to giving these leaves a unique personality. Due to the age of the trees, the production of this tea is limited, no pesticides are used for its growth and development. Low caffeine level.

For the infusion of these Chinese tea leaves, we recommend the gong fu cha method.    

• Infusion according to the Western method: In a 0.5 liter teapot: 7g. Rinse once, infuse for 3-4 minutes. Multiple infusions.
• For Gong Fu Cha: 15cl Yixing teapot: 7g. Rinse once, infuse for 30 seconds. Six infusions.

We emphasize the importance of using water with low fixed residue to not alter the quality of the infusion.
